Abstract

This paper presents a computational method to aid synthesis and analysis the protection system in unbalanced distribution network. The proposed method is based on a genetic algorithm. Also presented is a method to initialize the population of the genetic algorithm in order to achieve better results. A friendly graphical interface was developed to help the visualization of the results and to allow adjustments by the user after the optimization using genetic algorithm. The proposed method was tested in the distribuiton electrical systems.
