Abstract

With the use of mobile phones becoming more widespread in society and usage of both students and teachers, there is a need for educational institutions to adapt and provide means to take advantage of the use of these devices to improve the quality of teaching methods. For this, in this article, mobile learning practices were applied using the interactive slides technology in the Pear Deck name tool. The practices were carried out to promote the mobile learning of students and encourage the use of mobile devices as a means of learning in the classroom by teachers. These practices were carried out in two disciplines of the Centro de Educação do Planalto Norte (CEPLAN), namely: Estrutura de Dados I (DAD), of the bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, and Introdução à Ciência da Computação (ICP) of the course in Mechanical Engineering. The practices resulted in some Likert graphs and comments that report the use of the mobile devices by the students and report greater engagement of the classes during the administered classes, thus promoting mobile learning. It is concluded that such practices can be of great help to teachers and that students better absorb the content presented in class by joining normal activities and mobile learning.
