1. Which are the publication areas of IEEE Latin America Transactions?
There are three areas: Computing, Electronics and (Electric) Energy.

2. Which is the periodicity of IEEE Latin America Transactions ?
The journal publishes contributions every month.

3. Where can I download the published papers ?
The published papers can be downloaded from two sites: (i) from our website, in the "Published Issues" tab, and (ii) from IEEE Xplore.

4. In which databases is IEEE Latin America Transactions indexed ?
The journal is indexed by Web of Science and Scopus.

5. When is the journal open to receive submissions?
IEEE Latin America Transactions is always open to receive contributions through the editorial system.

6. What are the three key aspects of a good candidate submission?
1) Original and clear contribution, 2) concise and clear writing, and 3) technical correctness, and high scientific/ technical value.

7. How many and which files do I need to upload in the editorial platform for an initial submission ?
Four files are required that are (i) the manuscript, (ii) the letter to the editor, (iii) the graphical abstract, and (iv) the video abstract.

8. Which template do I need to follow to submit a paper ?
Double-column and single-spaced IEEE template in Word or Latex formats.

9. Which formats must I follow in the initial submitted files?
The manuscript, letter to the editor and video abstract in PDF format, and the graphical abstract in PNG format.

10. How many types of papers could I submit and their initial page limit ?
Two types are allowed, the research paper with a page limit from 6 to 9 pages, and the review articles from 6 to 12 pages.

11. How is the originality of a submitted article verified ?
A similarity test is performed to all submitted papers, and it must satisfy a Plagiarism Percent Match<30% (overall) and <20% (single source).

12. Which information must the letter to the editor contain ?
The letter to the editor must describe the contribution and relevance of the article, must include a suggestion of three reviewers, must disclose any prior publication, and must describe the co-authors contributions according to the CReditT.

13. Which are the guidelines for the graphical abstract ?
The graphical abstract is a visual summary of the main findings of the paper, and it has a color image with a minimum size of 531x1328 pixels, minimum resolution of 400 dpi and maximum size of 5 MB.

14. Which are the guidelines for the video abstract ?
The video abstact is a YouTube video with a maximum length of 3.5 minutes. In the first image, it must contain the title and authors of the paper. The video must incude the problem statement, contribution, and most relevant results and conclusions.

15. Which are the guidelines for the Link-to-Code file?
The Link-to-Code files is required for accepted and conditionally accepted papers, and its objective is to share the proposed software, code or model by a GitHub site (prefered option) or CodeOcean capsule to reproduce the results in the manuscript.

16. What are the languagues allowed to submit articles?
The manuscripts can be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese.

17. Which are the parts of the manuscript restricted to be in English?
The title, abstract, index terms, references and biographies must be presented in English.

18. What are the duties of the corresponding author ?
The corresponding author is the single point of contact between the authors and our editorial process during submission, peer review evaluation and final acceptance.

19. Can I use generative artificial inteligence in the development of the manuscript?
The use of content generated by artificial intelligence (AI) in the paper (including but not limited to text, figures, images and code) shall be disclosed in the acknowledgements section.

20. Can I use artificial intelligence for edition and grammar of the paper?
Artificial intelligence systems for editing and grammar enhancement is common practice, and disclosure in the manuscript is not required, but recommended.

21. Can an author have mutiple submissions under review, accepted or published per year ?
An author can only participate in at most three submissions under review, accepted or published per year.

22. Is there a fee to submit a paper ?
There are no fees during the submission process.

23. Is there a publication fee for an accepted paper ?
There is a unique fee of $250 USD after acceptance and independent of the number of pages in the paper.

24. Which are the available payment methods of the publication fee for an author ?
The only payment method is through a PayPal link.

25. When is the invoice of the publication fee issued ?
After the payment of the publication fee is verified, our Treasurer will request the information for the invoice to the corresponding author.
