Abstract

This paper presents the approach of an integrated system for lighting control on medical devices used in the treatment of Radiofrequency Ablation (ARF), which is applied for hepatic cancer. The principal approach in this case is videolaparoscopy, because it’s a minimally invasive surgery. One of the important components is the light source. The central idea is help to surgeon with lighting control of light source used for visual camera with aim monitoring the evolution of ablation in liver and the possible complications that can appear by use RFA in organs or adjacent structures to liver. The purpose of this work is development a LED light source applied to RFA treatment for clinical applications. The light control reaches the minimal requirements of light in laparoscopic surgeries, in this case for our configuration, we can to control the light of 0 up to 700 lm, the last value is satisfactory for purpose of this work, and finally the verification was done by specialist physician in the area.
