Abstract

The present work proposes a methodology for the selection and dimensioning of rural micro-networks and / or small communities optimizing the traditional solution of the generator with the incorporation of renewable energies. For this, the Homer PRO software is used, which considers economic criteria for the optimization of the system. Finally, the most relevant aspects of the software are described and the rural Santa Bárbara school of the Puertas del Sol area in the San Martin department of the Province of San Luis, Argentina, is presented as a case study.
