Abstract

This paper presents a procedure for implementing EMTP-ATP models of single-layer air-core inductors adequate for analyzing high and very-high frequency transients. The paper proposes a general circuit representation of air-core windings whose parameters are derived from the application of a FEM-based (Finite Element Method) tool. Experimental verifications are carried out by comparing frequency and transient responses obtained from the implemented models and laboratory measurements.
