Abstract

This work introduces a methodology to teach Mechatronics, Robotics and Automatic Control through a low-cost hands-on educational experimental platform based on a radio control (RC) servo. The hardware needed to build the platform is described as well as the teaching methodology. Performance of the platform is assessed by means of real-time experiments using an Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) law based on a Disturbance Observer (DOB). These experiments prove the platform potential for supporting undergraduate and graduate level courses.
