Abstract

In this present work we will focus on the amount of spot beams that are necessary in an HTS (High Throughput Satellite) system for 1 Tb/s total pure capacity. Therefore, to obtain the precise spot beams amount, we will use some kinds of algorithms and mechanisms to optimize the system and that can be compared with some traffic ratio configurations in order to meet the data traffic current needs and maybe project them for data traffic variation in the future. Thus, these are the main challenges that will be faced by 2020. Whereby, user capacity should be increased due to the multiple data services that arising such as: HD Video streaming, Big Data, IoT, D2D, etc. This work promises to meet expectations to find the theoretical capacity of an HTS latest generation system and to cope the next generation challenges in Latin America region.
