Abstract

This article shows the development of a short-range
wireless communication system, based on magnetic turns. The
objective is to design a support system for the movement of
people with visual impairments.
The structure of the project consists of an embedded system
attached to a cane, which allows detecting a set of emitting turns
placed at the intersections of the tile paths that people with visual
impairments use to move in public places.
This article shows the design and implementation of the
transmitting and receiving turns as well as the embedded system
that processes the received data and translates it into voice
commands that the person with visual impairment will use to
move around.
