Abstract

Due to the greater detailing in distribution systems modeling, it is necessary the seek for reliable reduction methods that improve the simulation time, while maintaining the precision of the power flow solution. This work considers the efficient idea regarding Kron reduction and establishes a mathematically exact reduction method to explicitly eliminate buses without loads and generation connection in a multi-grounded three-phase four-wire multi-grounded distribution feeder. The considered method is incorporated into the robust Four-conductor Current Injection Method (FCIM) and analyses in Kersting’s NEV Test Feeder are presented. The results obtained are encouraging, presenting both an accuracy in the same order of the defined tolerance for the FCIM and a considerable improvement in its computational processing time.
