Abstract

In this work we present the design, implementation and evaluation of an embedded control solution for a WDM tunable laser. A brief description of the tunable laser components and operation is given and the required hardware is proposed. The required temperature, power and wavelength controllers are designed placing great emphasis on response time. Additionally, It is presented the characteristics and configurations of the microcontroller, along with the control algorithms implementation. Finally, the time response and wavelength accuracy of the solution is evaluated.
