Abstract

In recent years, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have gained importance for education and training at all levels. In this context, with the use of ICT, the learning method called E-learning is empowered. There are several modalities of E-learning, but when one of these modalities focusses to companies and institutions that wish to improve the training of their employees it is called E-learning in the workplace. E-learning in the workplace, as an emerging approach to improving the skills of employees, has been chosen by some organizations for the advantages it offers. However, implementing E-learning in the workplace is a challenge due to several barriers that limit its success. This work focuses on one of the barriers, which is the lack of relevance of learning resources for the tasks that employees carry out in their workplace. As a solution to the problem of the relevance of resources, this paper proposes a method that consists of generating learning resources in the form of Web services from a business process model. One of the main findings is that by generating learning Web services from a business process model, it was found that it could be the means to establish the granularity of the learning web services since by using activities and tasks as specified in the documented business process, the limits to define the learning objectives, content and activities is defined in advanced.
