Abstract

The implementation of RFID systems allows the automation of the information flow along the production chains. This is a desirable condition to increase efficiency, productivity and management, and to simplify other activities such as traceability records along these chains of supply and production. In this work, a middleware RFID under client-multiserver architecture was developed for the process of autopart traceability in automobile assembly plant Renault-SOFASA-Colombia. This middleware has achieved to link various Siemens readers RFID and its architecture permit to obtain a reduction of costs in the implementation of RFID solutions by means of the hardware decrease, being an alternative that can compete with the solution provided by the manufacturer without any failure in the robustness of the solution. Moreover, the proposed solution concentrates all the efforts of maintenance of the system in a single point, and this is due to the fact that a terminal attends all the portals of reading. The tests performed, where the parts conveyors with their respective tags RFID are passed by the reading portals of the assembly plant, are in agreement with the results obtained in the developed middleware.
