The research was conducted using Scopus database from 1987 to 2019. The results showed an increasing trend in the number of publications on this subject, demonstrating the worldwide interest of the scientific community in non-technical losses. In addition, it was found that the predominant language in the writing of publications was English, the countries that most published articles in the area were India, Brazil and USA and the cumulative number of articles tends to reach 600 at the end of 2021. Developing countries are encouraging research in the area to reduce the damage caused by non-technical losses in electricity distribution, contributing to society as a large part of these costs are passed on to the consumer.</p> ER -
