Unexpectedly and contrary to what one would intuitively contemplate, new phenomena or complex dynamics appear of the non-smooth nature. Mainly border collisions and other non-smooth bifurcations are the main causes of the chaotic attractors and complex behaviors' emergence, even though the signal that controls the system is smooth. More importantly, a cascade of border collision bifurcations was discovered in the Buck converter controlled by a sine waveform, a kind of non-sooth bifurcation only reported in specific type of power inverters.</p> ER -
